Biafra agitation: IPOB calls for boycott of gubernatorial polls

Members of pro-Biafra group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have called for a boycott of gubernatorial elections in the Nigerian state of Anambra.
IPOB members marched through major roads in Onitsha capital of the state late last week following which they called for the poll boycott adding that anyone that went out to vote will die. They have also called for a sit-home on November 18 when the polls are to be held.
In a video making the rounds on social media and cited by local media portals, the protesters are heard decrying the terrorist tag imposed on them by the courts at the request of the government.
As you can see, we are formidable. We want the federal government to produce Nnamdi Kanu with immediate effect or there will be no peace. Come vote and die. If you vote, you will die.
“We are not terrorists. As you can see, there will be no election. We are not going to vote. We are not going to participate.
“As you can see, we are formidable. We want the federal government to produce Nnamdi Kanu with immediate effect or there will be no peace. Come vote and die. If you vote, you will die,” members are heard saying.
Meanwhile the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is ready for the process. The security personnel have also expressed readiness to provide security for persons who wish to assert their democratic rights.
There are five candidates going into the election. Incumbent Willie Obiano of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA; Tony Nwoye of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC; Oseloka Obaze of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP; Osita Chidoka of United Progressive Party, UPP; and Godwin Ezeemo of the People’s Progressive Alliance, PPA
The issue of Biafra came up during a recent television debate with a number of the contestants assuring that if elected they will cure the Biafran agitation by the provision of jobs for young people in the state.

Toyin Aimakhu: I Took Codeine, Hard Drugs. I Couldn't Boast Of N1m In 2016

Nollywood star, Toyin Abraham, opened up on her past when she abused hard drugs like marijuana and codeine, and was involved in other vices.

The actress made the disclosure at the 2017 edition of Success Story Africa, held at the TLC Auditorium, Lagos, on Saturday.
“You need to stop bad habits. I was involved in a lot of vices and it became worse last year,” she said at the event.
“I did drugs and I am not ashamed to say it because it’s now a thing of the past. They say codeine makes you high; I took a lot. I smoked a lot and I didn’t even know I looked horrible, because I was so skinny.
“If you came to my house last year, you would meet a lot of people and you wont want to leave because we smoked, gossiped about people and what have you.”

The actress also revealed that she once hawked plantain chips to help feed her family.
She said growing up was not easy for her because her family was not financially buoyant, although things worked out for them because they worked hard and were “spiritually buoyant”.
She also talked about the mistakes she has made in the entertainment industry and how she has not let the negativity shape her.

“I made a lot of mistakes when I began acting and that was because I did not have plans. I just wanted to be known.
“But, I now know that being popular isn’t the same thing as being successful. When I got into the industry and the fame became too much, I became irresponsible.

“I could not boast of N1 million in 2016. I was making money and I wanted to feel among. When one of our colleagues bought a car, it was trouble because we all strove to buy the same car or a bigger one.
“I had to change my circle for good and this change started in March 2017.”
Previously called Toyin Aimakhu, the actress changed her name to Toyin Abraham in December 2016.
The well-attended event also featured inspiring speeches by ace comedian, Bovi Ugboma; and Commissioner for Information, Ogun State, Dayo Adeneye, among other speakers.

I’m not a porn star, Uche Ogbodo replies Afrocandy

Uche Ogbodo
Following last week’s offer by American based Nollywood actress, Judith Okpara Mazagwu
popularly known as Afrocandy to feature Uche Ogbodo and two other Nollywood actresses in her next soft porn flick, the fast rising actress has replied the former, stating that she ‘s not Afrocandy recently disclosed her plans to star Ogbodo in her next porn flick on her facebook page. She recently released the trailer of her latest soft-porn movie, Destructive Instinct where she was completely nude in sexually explicit positions.

Reacting to the offer, Ogbodo warned the controversial porn flick producer, stating emphatically that she is an actress and not a porn star.

A statement, she released reads, ‘I’m an actress and not a porn star. The fact that I was just experimenting and having fun with the ‘Lady Gaga’ red hair photo shoot is not an excuse for the likes of AfroCandy to insult me.’

‘If I ever decide to strip in a movie, trust me, it’d be worth it like Halle Berry did in Monster’s Ball and Swordfish. Right now, I’m in talks with a reputable artiste management outfit to represent me and re-invent myself,’ she stated.a porn star.

''I need a boyfriend quickly'' - Karen Igho pleads

Karen, with all her popularity has not yet found the 'one',and she hopes he

will come by someday. I once thought she had something with former BBA housemate, Otono. She is currently in London for chris Attoh's birthday and also wants to school there.

read her plea,
How long can you stay with out sex???
Let's be realistic here.
Does it really matter who calls or text who first. Does it really matter if you had sex the first time you met. What will be will be.
I just want the right guy and am scared of getting hurt cos when I love I love with all my body and soul.
It's so difficult with fame to find a guy dat will love you and trust you. not all women in the industry are loose.
Guys and girls dat have more than one gf\bf, do you really love them all?
I can't double date. one guy is enough for me
I will die for true love and I will give my all for true love. You don't have to be cool to be my man and you don't have to be rich to rule my world. All I want is your extra time and your kiss.
I wanna go on a date, go to the movies
God will make a way

How Tuface And Josephine Anenih Escape Death In Averted Plane Crash

A very big disaster was averted last Sunday, May 19th, when an SAA South African Airways Airbus A340-600, registration ZS-SNG performing flight SA-60 from Johannesburg (South Africa) to Lagos (Nigeria) conveying over 300 people developed an electrical fault in Mid-air.This information was gotten from someone on the flight was surprised that it's not in the news.

According to him, he was on the flight that faithful day..it was a night flight and he was listening to music from his Ipod when he perceived a foul burning odor, he thought the white man sitting next to him had farted but he knew it something more serious when he noticed people panicking.

He pulled his headphones and asked the white guy sitting next to him why people where panicking, all the white man was saying was ’’this plane is going to crash! This plane s going to crash!..all of a sudden the lighting system in the aircraft went off…everyone was mad with fear.. some started praying others brought out their blackberries and started pinging, some started calling loved ones and telling them their last wishes.

The captain then announced that the plane had developed an electrical fault and they were going to have an emergency landing. The pilot then turned the plane around and headed back to South Africa. It was also revealed that it was then he saw 2face Idibia walk past him and when he looked back he saw the popstar talking and calming his crew down, telling them not to panic.

After 45 minutes, the captain announced that they were going to ‘dump the fuel’ i.e remove all the jet fuel on the plane, this is a precautionary step taken by pilots whenever a plane is going to crash or whenever there is a risk of fire. As they were about to land, another problem came up. The captain announced that the tires of the plane could not come out, by then everyone on the plane had given up.

Miraculously, the tires came out and the plane successfully landed and the passengers were evacuated. Other passengers were taken to the arrival lounge, that was when he met Tony Anenih’s wife, Josephine, they talked and exchanged cards.

After much investigation, it was a kettle that sparked in the kitchen that affected the whole electrical system of the plane.

Why D’Prince parted ways with manager,Teebillz

D' Prince
D’ Prince

Mavin artiste, D’Prince has parted ways with his manager, Teebillz, who is also Tiwa Savage’s manager and fiance.

The two who were in the UK about two weeks ago to shoot two videos for Tiwa, reportedly ended their business relationship as soon as they returned from the UK.

D’Prince made the announcement via Twitter a few days ago, noting that he is now being managed by Sunday Are who doubles as singer Omawumi’s manager.

Reports claim that D’prince parted ways with Teebillz because “Teebillz didn’t really have time to commit to managing him. He wants to concentrate on the business management of his label and leave artiste management alone for now. He’s busy with too many projects and they decided D’Prince should move to Sunday Are”

EXPOSED! Singer D’banj’s Secret Affair With Celebrated Politician Ita Giwadbanj

D'banj

A very guarded romance is on. And it revolves around two interesting personalities- popular entertainer widely known as D Banj, Dapo Oyebanji and Celebrated Politician, Florence Ita Giwa.

The duo are said to be engulfed in a very discreet but passionate affair which has been on for some time now.

Informants revealed that the need for secrecy is more about the need for the musician to maintain the image of a successful young man every lady want to take home to mama- the bedrock of his public appeal.
Analyses a source, ‘Ita Giwa is known for keeping younger guys and lavishing expensive gifts on them. More of a Sugar Mummy having young men as plaything kind of affair. And D’Banj and the Mo’Hit crew have heavily invested on creating the image of a youngman every lady desire with all material things at his beck and call for the musician.

So you see, unlike the Genevieve affair that he leveraged on male dominance to shore up that particular image, publicly associating with Ita Giwa in a submissive role of sex for material thing will make nonsense of the musician’s reputation and Mo Hits investment on him. Simply put, it decorates him with the cloak of a kept lover’.

Fashola Tinz: Lagos State Introduces "MERRIMENT TAX" For Every Party Celebration

Have you ever heard of merriment tax? Lagos State Government says residents of Lagos spend more than N1 billion on merriment and entertainment monthly.

The state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, MrAdemorin Kuye, gave the figure at a news conference organised to mark Gov.Babatunde Fashola`s sixth year in office.

He said the figure was derived from a research recently conducted by the Ministry of Budgeting and Planning, which showed that the residents spent a lot of money on entertainment. Kuye lamented that the benefits of entertainment had not been fully tapped to boost revenue generation in terms of taxes. "There is merriment tax in the constitution, it is part of the rates local governments can collect. We have not fully utilised the benefit of the entertainment industry in this state. "Over N1 billion is spent monthly in Lagos state on entertainment, we have the records to confirm this and these people, how many of them pay tax?

``The money goes into drinks, wine, food, aso-ebi (uniform dresses) and all of that and when they spend all of this money, they do not want to pay anything to the government." On the clamour for autonomy for local governments, Kuye said those behind the agitation were not sincere but only pushing for it to score political points. "The position of the government is that the clamour is not with sincere intention because it will not benefit the local governments.

``I have challenged people to go out there and find out if it is what the people want.``Those clamouring are doing so for political gains; to use the local government to get elected into positions.’’ He said it was the same people that had earlier said there was no need for local governments that were now saying money should be given directly to the councils.

What's your say on this merriment tax? Do you think it's a welcome development?

I am single after I broke up with my girlfriend – Moses Obi Adigwe

With a sonorous voice and boisterous personality 22-year-old Moses Obi Adigwe, a.k.a the ‘teddy bear’ wowed audiences across Nigeria to emerge winner of one of Nigeria’s most-viewed reality TV show, Etisalat- Nigerian Idol, Season 3. He speaks to Showtime on the journey so far, his forthcoming album, and life generally.

How has it been so far?

It has been good and awesome. It has been wow, I still can’t believe it really, but it is great.

What has changed about you after winning the Nigerian Idols reality TV show ?

Nothing, I am just happy and laughing every time. It is unbelievable, don’t you understand? A year ago, if someone had told me that I would be here today. I would have said Amen! But I don’t believe you. Everything that has happened really showed that it is just a blessing. It is a miracle in my life, and I am so excited and happy about it.

Were you surprise that you won the show?

Personally, I went into the competition with a mindset that I was going to have fun. So, I was hoping that I would get there, I worked, hoped, and prayed that I get there.

What were the challenges you faced?

In terms of contestant that would be Abasiakan

Why

To me, he was the second best singer; his vocal abilities really amazed me. We were actually good friends maybe, because of our vocal dexterity and that we both knew music and all of that. I thought we would make the top two. That day, the eviction show was greeted with mixed-feelings. I was happy that I scaled through, and then, I felt bad because my very good friend didn’t make it to the finals.

Muna impostor dupes fans

Munachi

This might not be the best of time for former beauty queen and rapper, Munachi Abi, a.k.a, Muna, as she’s is presently battling to save her name from being dragged to the mud as an impostor is using it to dupe unsuspecting fans.

According to her, the said impersonator is a Lagos based damsel whom she described as a “bleaching Brazilian hair she-males.”

WG gathered that the said impostor wears Muna’s favourite coloured-hair which makes her look so much like the singer. She goes about town, pretending to be Muna and in the process extorting money from the unsuspecting fans.

Muna took to Twitter account during the week to cry out against the ugly development. “I shall collect all that has been stolen from me. ALL!!! Biko(please) bleaching Brazzillian hair she-males don’t come and be reaping where you did not sow. But you gotta(must admit) admit I must be a big deal for you to go about duping people pretending to be me..”, she tweeted.
